Following the department tradition to sponsor field trips to some of the most interesting areas in the world, we set off for Italy, under the leadership of Professor and Department Chair David Rowley. The group consisted of 12 undergraduates, 4 graduate students, Professor Kevin Boyce and TA Guilherme Gualda.
After munching on the memorable US Airways breakfast donut, we landed in Rome, where all had a chance to wander around and enjoy a few of the countless attractions. The day ended with great food and plenty of sleep at the Emmanus Hotel in the Vatican area, except for graduate Bjarte Hannisdal and the TA, who decided to take off on a frustrated hike looking for Stardust.
