Solid Earth and Planetary Sciences

My research deals with dynamical processes in the Earth's interior. This can include mantle convection, plate tectonics, and the generation of the Earth's magnetic field. A central theme that connects these processes is the thermal and compositional evolution of the Earth because it affects the energy which is available to drive the internal dynamics of the planet. I attempt to understand the structure, dynamics and evolution of the Earth's interior using theoretical models in combination with geophysical observations.
