The Department hosts a diverse community of scholars that includes research scientists, scientists at affiliated institutions, postdoctoral scholars, visiting scientists and members of the community at large. These valued members of our department enrich research and learning about the fundamental nature of Earth and other planetary bodies, their physics, biology, chemistry, and history, and have an important role in the broad intellectual life of the Department and the University.
Among the various avenues of non-student, non-faculty involvement in the Department is the prestigious T. C. Chamberlin Fellowship, which is awarded from time to time to young scientists of outstanding promise.
