Application of stable isotopes to paleoaltimetry has taken off considerably in the past 8 years or so. Our first application was to the Himalayas (Rowley et al. GSA Abstract 1999) the results of which were finally published in 2001. Garzione et al. (2000a and 2000b) also applied the general approach to the Himalayas.
