Graduate student Daniel Koll, who expects to defend his thesis this summer, presented a paper at the fall AGU meeting titled "Day-night Temperature Gradients and Atmospheric Collapse on Synchronously Rotating Terrestrial Planets" that was covered in AGU's Earth and Space Science News (EOS). His work investigates atmospheric heat transport and the possibility of atmospheric collapse on tidally locked planets using basic physical theory. Congratulations Daniel!
