Graduate student Daniel Koll has won a prestigious James S. McDonnell Postdoctoral Fellowship Awards in Studying Complex Systems to pursue his research on fundamental geophysical fluid dynamics as applied to planetary atmospheres. This award provides him with $200k to be spent over two or three years in a postdoc at the institution of his choosing. Daniel expects to defend his PhD thesis during the summer of 2016 and start his postdoc in the fall of 2016.
