September 14, 2016

Postdoc Alice Marzocchi has won one of the Best Poster awards sponsored by Nature Geoscience for Early Career researchers at the 12th International Conference on Paleoceanography (ICP12). The meeting is held every three years and gathers the international paleoceanography community, featuring a limited number of invited keynote talks and several poster sessions. This year it took place in Utrecht (Netherlands) on August 29th - September.

Alice has recently joined the Department to work with Malte Jansen on an NSF-funded project aiming to better understand deep ocean circulation differences between today and the Last Glacial Maximum (about 21,000 years ago). This work was presented as part of Session 5, “Reconstructing the Future”, with the title “The role of sea ice and buoyancy fluxes in shaping glacial and modern ocean circulation: An analysis of PMIP simulations”.
