By guessing that the first snow of the year in Chicago would occur on Halloween, Emma Heras wins the 2023 competition. Over 50 members of the department tried to forecast the date of the first snow this year. Entries were made at the start of the Autumn quarter.
This was the 3rd edition of the competition, with previous winners being Associate Professor Edwin Kite (2022) and Professor Noboru Nakamura (2021).
