Assistant professor Tiffany Shaw is the lead author on a recent review in Nature Geosciences titled, "Storm track processes and the opposing influences of climate change." The paper explains how numerous complex and difficult-to-model phenomena in Earth's atmosphere are likely to change with climate in ways that will pull the storm track in different directions, making the effect of climate change on the storm track extremely difficult to predict. Former DoGS graduate student Mairi Best (PhD '00) was covered by U Chicago alumni career programs. Best studies taphonomy, how organisms decay over time and become part of the fossil record. She has led efforts to moniter underwater research sites throughout her career.
