A recent publication led by graduate student Megan Mansfield was recently featured in a NASA news release! Climate models that incorporate dayside hydrogen dissociation on KELT-9b provide a much better fit than simpler models. Congratulations, Megan!

Prof. Alfred T. Anderson (Emeritus), a long time department member, passed away last week. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 3 p.m. at Bond Chapel, followed by a reception. You can find his obituary here.

A recent paper led by Prof. Phillip Heck and graduate student Jennika Greer identified the oldest known material on Earth: 7-billion year-old presolar grains! The study has made quite a journalistic splash, featured so far in multiple online publications. Congratulations to both!
