Congratulations to GeoSci Professor Nicolas Dauphas, Research Associate Professor Reika Yokochi, former PhD student Francois Tissot, present PhD student Justin Hu, and former postdoc Tom Ireland who were recently issued a patent for the pneumatically/hydraulically actuated fluoropolymer-hplc chromatographic system they developed in Hinds. Acquiring a patent is a rare achievement in the Earth sciences.

Associate Professor Philipp Heck and Graduate Student Jennika Greer were featured in the Chicago Tribune for their work hunting down fragments of a January 16th meteor and analyzing the specimens they discovered.

Tad Komacek has accepted a prestigious 51 Pegasi b Fellowship to join our department starting next summer. 51 Pegasi b Fellowships provide exceptional postdoctoral scientists with the three years of funding to conduct theoretical, observational, and experimental research in planetary astronomy.
