  • Edie, Smits, and Jablonski publish diversity paper in PNAS

    Graduate students Stewart Edie and Peter Smits (Committee on Evolutionary Biology), with William R. Kenan, Jr. Distinguished Service Professor David Jablonski, have published a paper in PNAS titled "Probabilistic models of species discovery and biodiversity comparisons." They provide an approach for estimating the amount of undiscovered diversity on Earth by geographic region, which enables more rigorous development of conservation priorities, and an improved analysis of evolutionary and ecological dynamics among and within regions across the globe. Congratulations Stewart, Peter, and David!

  • Heck wins Cosslett Award

    Associate Professor (part time) Phillip Heck has won the coveted Cosslett Award from the Microanalysis Society (MAS) for the best invited paper in the Microscopy and Microanalysis 2016 meeting for his talk titled, "Microanalysis of Fossil Micrometeorites and Meteorites to Study a Major Asteroid Collision ~470 Million Years Ago." Congratulations Phillip!

  • Davis awarded NSF GRFP

    DoGS graduate student Anne Davis has been awarded a Graduate Research Fellowship by the National Science Foundation. These fellowships are awarded to only 15% of applicants across all fields nationwide. Congratulations Anne!
