Renovations have begun on the 3rd floor of Hinds Laboratory to prepare a research space for Prof. Clara Blättler's work in low-temperature geochemistry. The facility will include spaces and equipment for sample preparation and geochemical/isotopic analysis for a wide range of geological materials. Research activities are expected to begin in summer 2019.

Work by Prof. Susan Kidwell and former postdoc Adam Tomasovych was featured in a recent article on unsuspected marine ecosystem collapse in Southern California, driven by historic land use. The piece was produced by the Univ So Cal SeaGrant program, which provided early bridge funds for work on the Los Angeles continental shelf.
