Assistant Professor Graham Slater is featured on UChicago News this week, talking about his recent paper on the evolution of sloths. Prof. Slater was part of an international team of researchers who used evidence from ancient proteins to reconstruct the relationships of living tree sloths to their giant extinct relatives. "Not only do our results rewrite sloth classification," said Prof. Slater, "they suggest much of what we thought we knew about how sloths evolved may be wrong."
